(CEGESA) is the construction company of Gamaliel Garza Garcia, whom the U.S. Treasury describes as an associate of the Cartel del Noreste (CDN), a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization. Treasury says CDN has used CEGESA to funnel money to the election campaigns of its preferred political candidates, and that the company corruptly obtained government contracts, including from the municipality of Nuevo Laredo and the state of Tamaulipas, then sub-contracted the work to CDN-affiliated individuals. OFAC designated it on 13 October 2026 under ILLICIT-DRUGS-EO14059 and SDGT.
