HR

HR denotes the European Union's global human rights sanctions framework, established by Council Regulation (EU) 2020/1998 and an accompanying Council Decision of 7 December 2020 concerning restrictive measures against serious human rights violations and abuses. Thematic rather than country-specific, it allows the EU to list those responsible for acts such as genocide, torture or systematic repression wherever they occur, imposing asset freezes, prohibitions on making funds available and travel bans.

HR includes 170 canonical entities and 170 authority records.
