MMR

MMR denotes the European Union's restrictive measures in respect of Myanmar/Burma, currently framed by Council Regulation (EU) No 401/2013 of 2 May 2013 and an accompanying Council Decision, which continued a long-standing embargo on arms and equipment usable for internal repression. Targeted asset freezes and travel bans were added from 2018 in connection with serious human rights violations, and the lists expanded substantially after the February 2021 military coup.
