SOM

SOM denotes the European Union's restrictive measures in view of the situation in Somalia, whose asset-freeze component was established by Council Regulation (EU) No 356/2010 of 26 April 2010 with an accompanying Council Decision. Implementing United Nations Security Council Resolution 1844 (2008), it provides asset freezes and travel bans against those designated for threatening peace and security, violating the arms embargo or obstructing humanitarian assistance, complementing the long-standing Somalia arms embargo.
