Executive Order 13661, signed on 16 March 2014, responded to the deployment of Russian military forces in Ukraine's Crimea region. It extends US Ukraine-related sanctions to officials of the Government of the Russian Federation, persons operating in Russia's arms and related materiel sector, and those acting for, owned by or materially supporting senior Russian officials, blocking their US assets and suspending entry.
